A Weekend at the Clickimin Christmas Craft Fair
Lucinda WinksWhat a weekend! The Clickimin Christmas Craft Fair was absolutely buzzing with festive cheer, local talent, and a lovely crowd of shoppers supporting small Shetland businesses. It’s always one of my favourite events of the year — a brilliant way to catch up with familiar faces and meet so many new ones who share a love for handmade Shetland crafts.
I was there as Jade Crafts Shetland, surrounded by a wonderful variety of work from fellow makers — from cosy knitwear and Shetland wool creations to ceramics, candles, and beautifully crafted gifts. There’s such a warmth and sense of community in the air at these events, and this year’s fair really captured that spirit.
I brought along a selection of my embroidered designs, handmade gifts, and Shetland-inspired pieces, plus a few new products that made their debut just in time for the holidays. It’s always exciting to see people’s reactions in person and hear which designs remind them of home, their travels, or favourite Shetland spots.
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who stopped by my table — your support truly means the world. Events like this are what keep Shetland’s creative community thriving, and it’s such a privilege to be a part of it.
If you couldn’t make it along this time, don’t worry — many of the same items (and a few new ones!) are available in Da Craft Shed in Dunrossness and on my website.
Thanks again to everyone who made the fair so special — the organisers, the visitors, and of course, the amazing crafters who make Shetland’s creative scene what it is.
